WACO, Texas– The Norfolk State men's basketball team fought hard against a nationally-ranked opponent on Wednesday but couldn't come away with a victory in a morning meeting with No. 25 Baylor.
The Bears (7-3) took down NSU (6-5) 94-69 behind 16 points and 13 assists from guard Robert Wright and 19 points from Norchad Omier. Christian Ings led Norfolk State with 12 points, while Brian Moore Jr. (11) and Jaylani Darden (11) both scored in double-figures.
Norfolk State showed no fear in enemy territory, as Ings immediately knocked down a 3-pointer on the game's first possession. It marked the first time Baylor trailed at home this season.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Five Bison scored in double-figures with three scoring 20-plus points in the Howard's 124-50 victory over Virginia University of Lynchburg.
Freshman Blake Harper continued his stellar rookie season with his first career triple-double of 30-points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists while shooting 50 percent from the field and three-point range and was 6-of-7 from the charity stripe.
Marcus Dockery was one point shy of the 30-point mark contributing 29 points and seven rebounds. Cameron Shockley-Okeke added a double-double of his own with 21 points and 12 rebounds, while Miles Stewar posted 15 points and 11 rebounds in the win. ANwar Gill rounded out the top scorers with 13 points.

DOVER, Del. - The Hornets collected their second consecutive win with a 71-59 decision against New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).
Robert Smith led the team with 27 points shooting 6-of-9 from three-point range while adding six rebounds. Martaz Robinson contributed 10 points with eight rebounds.
DSU scored 38 points in the paint with 14 coming from second chance opportunities. The bench added 15 points.
