DAYTON, OH --The Delaware State women's basketball team got a 15-point showing from the bench, but fell 79-44 to the Dayton Flyers on the road Friday.
The Hornets (1-1) had two players score in double figures, led by Mahogany Cottingham, who had 13 points and three steals. Kiarra Mcelrath tacked on 12 points and two steals off of the bench and Circe Rubio Remolar added six points and three steals.
The Delaware State defense was a problem in Friday's game, forcing 21 Dayton turnovers. Those takeaways turned into 11 points on the other end of the floor. Rubio Remolar's three steals led the way individually for the Hornets.

Washington, D.C. – The Howard University Lady Bison secured a hard-fought 69-66 victory over George Washington improving their record to 2-0 to start the season.
Destiny Howell led the way for Howard, scoring a team-high 20 points, while Saniyah King added 14 points and three rebounds.

ORANGEBURG, S.C. -- South Carolina State defeated Presbyterian College 59-54 in an impressive non-conference victory.
The Bulldogs were led by Jada Morgan, who scored a team-high 15 points. Shaunice Reed and Angie Juste-Jean each contributed nine points in the win.
