Nov. 4, 2024 - South Carolina State’s Eric Phoenix has been selected as the HBCU+ National Player of the Week for FCS college football games in Week 10 this past weekend.

Phoenix directed South Carolina State to a 24-21 win over No. 19 North Carolina Central and right into first place in the MEAC. He completed 26 of 36 pass attempts for 321 yards and two touchdowns with one interception, and had 13 carries for 60 yards, including an 11-yard touchdown. The Bulldogs (6-2) have won five straight games.
