Howard def William & Mary 74-63 

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (November 29, 2024) – Graduate guard Destiny Howell (Queens, N.Y.) scored a team-high 19 points and just missed a double-double with a career-high nine rebounds as the Howard University women's basketball team pulled away to a 74-63 road win at William & Mary (W&M) inside the Kaplan Center. 

King, the two-time MEAC Rookie of the Week, showed her value by adding 11 points on 5-of-10 shooting and a game-high six assists. 
  
Other contributors to the win included graduate forward Kaiya Creek (Seat Pleasant, Md.), who scored all of her 11 points in the first half, and Miller tallying a season-high 11 points and seven rebounds.

North Carolina def North Carolina Central 119-43 

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University women's basketball team fell 119-43 to No. 16 North Carolina on Friday afternoon in Carmichael Arena. 
 
The Eagles are now 0-9 on the season. 
 
Freshman guard Shakiria Foster led the Eagles with a season-high 18 points and a team-high six rebounds, going 6-for-13 from the floor and hitting all five free throws.

Coppin State def North Florida 76-61 

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Laila Lawrence and Angel Jones combined for 40 points as the Coppin State women's basketball team shot a season-high 50.9% from the floor in a 76-61 win at North Florida on Friday afternoon at UNF Arena.  

The Eagles improved to 4-3 and close out at UNF Thanksgiving Tournament against Stephen F. Austin tomorrow at 3:30 pm.

Georgia Southern def Maryland Eastern Shore 58-47 

PISCATAWAY, New Jersey – Though the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (4-4) kept a tight game from the second quarter through the final whistle, the Hawks were unable to overcome an explosive first quarter from Georgia Southern (5-1) in a 58-47 loss at the Battle on the Banks tournament. 

Lainey Allen led the Hawks in scoring with 12 points while pulling down another seven rebounds. For the season Allen is averaging 6.4 points per game and 5.9 rebounds.  Mahogany Lester scored in the double digits for the second straight game with 11 while also pulling down five rebounds while dishing out a pair of assists.

Norfolk State def Wyoming 56-47 

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO --- The Norfolk State women's basketball team battled its way to a 56-47 victory at the Discover Puerto Rico Shootout Friday afternoon. 
  
Graduate guard Diamond Johnson led the Spartans in scoring for the second consecutive day with 18 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals. 
  
Senior forward Kierra Wheeler also posted double figures with 15 points, 10 rebounds, three steals, and two assists. Sophomore guard Anjanae Richardson provided a spark off the bench, scoring nine points.
