NASHVILLE – In the first game of the Music City Classic, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore showed out as the Hawks earned a 62-56 win against Dayton after controlling the final the three quarters for a third straight win.
Zamara Haynes led the Hawks in scoring with 25 points, marking a season-high for the team. Haynes is averaging 16.8 points this season while shooting 42.4% from the floor.  Mahogany Lester and Lainey Allen tied for a game-high rebounds with seven each. Lester is averaging 7.5 rebounds this season with 45 total while Allen has collected 33 so far.

Delaware State def Bloomfield 76-73

DOVER, DE -- Kyra Lawrence hit a dagger shot with 1:46 left in the fourth quarter to put Delaware State up 74-67, and the Hornets earned a 76-73 win over the Bloomfield Bears at home Monday.

The Hornets (3-4) had three players score in double figures, led by Mahogany Cottingham, who had 24 points and three steals. Kiarra Mcelrath added 18 points and two steals off the bench and Ericka Huggins helped out with 10 points off the bench.

Mckenzie Stewart pulled down five offensive rebounds to pace an offense that racked up second chance opportunities for Delaware State, grabbing 18 boards and turning them into 19 second chance points.

North Carolina A&T Def NCCU 62-39
 

GREENSBORO, NC-- In the Battle of the Carolinas, North Carolina A&T defeated North Carolina Central with a commanding 62-39 victory.

The Eagles were led by Aysia Hinton, who finished with eight points and seven rebounds. Shakira Foster and LaNiya Scales also contributed with seven points each.
