MEAC Announces Weekly Men’s Basketball Honors

NORFOLK, Va., Nov. 26, 2024 – Norfolk State guard Brian Moore Jr. was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola. Howard’s guard Blake Harper was named Rookie of the Week, while Coppin State’s guard Julies Ellerbe earned Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively.

Moore Jr. (G, 6-2, 185, Gr., Harlem, N.Y.) averaged 20.5 points, 2.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds for the week. Moore collected a 45 percent shooting percentage (15-of-33) and 91 percent (10-of-11) from the free throw line.

Harper (G, 6-5, Fr., Washington, D.C.) tallied 23 points and 17 rebounds with six assists and three steals in two games for the Bison. In the game against Boston, Harper recorded 14 points and eight rebounds with three assists and three steals.

Ellerbe (G, 6-7, 205, RJr., Washington, D.C.) finished with a career-high 16 points and 12 rebounds against the Patriots of George Mason notching his first career double-double.

  • Toby Nnadozie (CSU) had a team-high 19 points at GMU along with five rebounds and four steals.
  • Kaseem Watson (DSU) in two games for the Hornets Watson averaged 17.0 points and 7.5 rebounds.
  • Marcus Dockery (HU) totaled 33 points with three rebounds, one assist and three steals in a 1-1 week for the Bison.
  • Po’Boigh King (NCCU) led the Eagles with 19 points in N.C. Central’s only game against Georgia State.
