NORFOLK, Va., October 30, 2024 – Maryland Eastern Shore junior Mariana Santos Rivero was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowler of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola. Teammate Mariane Almeida was named the MEAC Rookie of the Week.
Santos Rivero (Jr., Cali, Columbia) helped the Hawks to a second-place team finish at the Valpo Bowling Classic where Maryland Eastern Shore totaled a 12,072 total pin count (182.9 avg.). She posted a tournament high game of 236 while averaging 204.4 pins per game. Rivero tallied a MEAC best average per frame (20.48) and striking sum percentage (53.0). Rivero finished first overall in the tournament earning the junior All-Tournament accolades.
Almeida (Fr., Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) finished 15th at the Valpo Bowling Classic with a total pinfall of 891 averaging 178.6 pins per game. Almeida averaged 17.25 pins per frame, while recording a 77.3 fill percentage. The rookie recorded a weekend high of 214 in the win against Elmhurst.

Victoria Davis (CSU) finished sixth at the Virginia Union Invite with a total pinfall of 906 and a per game average of 181.2.
Blessing Lawrence (CSU) collected a total pin fall of 859 with a per game average of 171.8.
Cameren Sullivan (HOW) placed second overall, averaging 189.2 pins, helping the Bison to a third-place finish at the Virginia Union Invite.
Kiersten Michel (NSU) averaged 191.4 pins with a tournament-high score of 245 earning the Tournament MVP and All-Tournament accolades at the Virginia Union Invite.
Jordan Shipp (UAB) collected a total pin fall of 971 with a per game average of 194.2 en route to a Blazer first place team finish at the Southern Queens Tournament.
