Miami (ACC) def. Coppin state - 93-63

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Three Eagles scored in double figures as Coppin State's men's basketball team fell at Miami, 93-63 on Sunday afternoon at Watsco Center.  Coppin fell to 0-6 on the season while the Hurricanes remain unbeaten at 3-0.

Inside the Numbers

  • Julius Ellerbe III led the Eagles with 14 points on 3-of-8 shooting while hitting 8-of-13 from the line. He added three rebounds, two assists, a block and a steal.
  • Toby Nnadozie and Khali Horton pitched in with 11 points and three rebounds apiece.  Nnadozie was also credited with two assists and a steal while Horton had a block and two steals.
  • Jonathan Dunn had a team-high eight rebounds to go with eight points and Peter Oduro scored34 a career-high nine points while making all four of his shots from the floor.
  • Cam'Ron Brown tacked on six points with four assists and Darius Leonard scored his first collegiate points on a pair of free throws.

Winthrop (Big South) def. NC Central - 77-75

ROCK HILL, S.C. – In the final game of the Rock Hill Classic, the North Carolina Central University men's basketball team fell 77-75 to the tournament host Winthrop University on Sunday afternoon. Junior guard Po'Boigh King had another efficient performance with a team-high 18 points.

NCCU (1-5) went into Sunday's game hoping to carry over momentum from Saturday's victory over William & Mary. This was the second game this weekend where NCCU faced another Eagles team.

The first half consisted of four ties and the lead didn't stretch more than seven points as NCCU went on a 12-0 run with 12:25 remaining with threes from King, layups from senior Isaac Parson and junior Jaqai Murray and a jumper from senior Floyd Rideau Jr. bringing the lead to 19-12 in NC Central's favor forcing a Winthrop timeout.

Winthrop regained the lead with 3:20 left in the half until 2:28 remained as NCCU went into the half with a 40-39 lead. King led all scorers with 12 points.
