ROCK HILL, S.C. --- The Norfolk State women's cross-country team completed its 2024 campaign on Friday morning, competing in the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships as a team for the second time in program history.
NSU improved on last year's standing by five spots, earning 23rd place (109-111-120-157-182-200) with 679 points. The event featured a total of 34 teams.
Freshman Yvone Sandui led the way for the Spartans, clocking a 6k time of 22:49.50 to place 114th in a field of over 250 runners.
Senior Mercyline Kimaiyo followed closely behind, placing 116th (22:50.30) while sophomore Leanna Lewis placed 127th (23:00.00).

Joslyn Crosby led the Bison at the 2024 NCAA DI Mid-Atlantic Women's Regional race with a 21:44.8 time in the 6K race. Crosby crossed the line 81.
Mira Martin was the second Bison runner to cross the finish line placing 111th in 22:10.9.
