INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Graduate guard Diamond Johnson earned USBWA Player of the Week honors following her opening week performances against William & Mary, Longwood, and Missouri.
The USBWA women's awards, organized under Mel Greenberg and the USBWA Vice President for women's basketball, are drawn from weekly conference honors as well as at-large additions.
Johnson averaged 20.0 points, 4.3 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game over the three games. She led NSU in scoring in both the Longwood (32) and Missouri (17) wins.
Norfolk State started its season 3-0 with wins over William & Mary (70-49), Longwood (71-62), and Missouri (57-54).
Norfolk State continues its SEC road trip at No. 24 Alabama on Wednesday, Nov. 14 in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
