NORFOLK, Va., Nov. 11, 2024 – Delaware State’s Gerren Tomlin was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola.
Norfolk State's Jasmine Mataira was named Rookie of the Week, while
Howard’s Leah Reeves and
Coppin State’s Coco Figueroa received Setter and Defensive Player of the Week accolades, respectively.
Tomlin (Jr., OH, Statesville, N.C.) led Delaware State in two three-set sweeps this weekend, hitting an impressive .471 and averaging 4.33 kills on only two errors. She ranks 13th nationally and first in the MEAC with 52 aces (0.55 avg.) on the season. Tomlin finished the week with 20 digs, 26 kills and two service aces.
Mataira (Fr., S, Lehi, Utah) totaled 22 assists, 12 digs, four kills and one block in seven sets helping Norfolk State to a 1-1 record on the week.
Reeves (Jr., S, Allen, Texas) registered 100 assists (12.5 avg.), 19 digs, three aces, three kills and three blocks in two wins to help the Bison win the MEAC regular season title. In the match against Coppin State, she collected 59 assists and 14 digs to help the Bison secure the regular season title and top seed in the MEAC Volleyball tournament.
Figueroa (So., L/DS, Bayamon, Puerto Rico) collected 40 digs (4.44 avg.), 10 assists (1.11 avg.) and four aces on the week. Also served up four aces in the four-set win over Norfolk State and helped the Eagles take two sets from Howard, who had not lost a set in conference play.

- Takenya Stafford (CSU) moved into sixth on Coppin’s all-time kills list in just two seasons with 35 kills on the weekend.
- Kahea Carvalho (CSU) tallied 49 assists in two matches with 17 digs, five kills and two service aces.
- Paige Ahakuelo (DSU) registered 19 assists (7.00 avg.) and one ace in two wins for the Hornets.
- Rya McKinnon (HOW) recorded 31 kills and 13 digs to help the Bison to a 2-0 week.
- Claire Simpson (HOW) led the Bison with 28 digs and six assists.
- Anisa Dorlouis (UMES) posted 65 assists (9.29 avg.) through two matches for UMES alongside 13 kills, 14 digs, two blocks and one service ace.
- Gabrielle Gilbert (NSU) registered 27 kills, three blocks, three aces and seven digs in a 1-1 week for the Spartans.
- Sydney McCree (NSU) amassed 46 assists through two matches with 16 digs, two kills and four aces in a 1-1 week for Norfolk State.
- Lily Rose-Pichon (NSU) totaled 27 digs over two matches.
- Kamren Harper (NCCU) registered 30 kills (4.29 avg.) this past weekend including 23 against UMES.
- Kayden Cupid (NCCU) totaled 13 kills (1.86 avg.) and four blocks, three solo, in two contests.
- Bella Dearinger (NCCU) tallied 70 assists (10.0 avg.) over seven sets for the Eagles with 10 digs and two kills.
