BALTIMORE, Md. – Toby Nnadozie and Derrius Ward scored 18 points apiece as the Coppin State men's basketball team fell to Rider, 64-53, in its home opener on Saturday afternoon at PEC Arena.  The Eagles fell to 0-3 on the year while the Broncs now stand at 2-1. 
  
Inside the Numbers 

  • Nnadozie's 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting were a season-high as he buried four 3-pointers along with three rebounds, an assist and two steals. 

  • Ward hit 7-of-17 shots from the field while going 4-of-8 from the line. He added six rebounds, an assist and a block. 

  • The rest of the Eagles combined for just 17 points with Khali Horton recording seven, followed by Jonathan Dunn with four points and a team-high eight rebounds.

Columbia (Ivy) def. Delaware State - 83-62 

NEW YORK, NY --The Delaware State offense put on a ball-movement clinic on the road Saturday, recording 19 assists on 26 made shots, but the Hornets fell to the Columbia Lions 83-62.

The Hornets (0-2) had two players score in double figures, led by Kaseem Watson, who had 16 points, seven rebounds and two steals. Martaz Robinson added 15 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals and Muneer Newton added five points and three blocks.

Longwood (Big South) Def. Morgan State - 84-66 

FARMVILLE, Va. (November 9, 2024) — Morgan State men's basketball tipped off at the Joan Perry Brock Center on Saturday afternoon. After trailing by four points at half and cutting Longwood's lead to two in the early going in the second half, the Bears fell by a score of 84-66. 

Morgan (1-2) gave Longwood (2-0) a challenge to begin the game, as the lead changed hands 10 times in the opening stanza. Longwood's 46% from the field bested Morgan's 44% and the Lancers shot a higher percentage from three in the frame by connecting on 6-of-16. Meanwhile, the Bears shot just 1-for-8 from 3-point territory during the early going.

UMES def. Penn State Schuylkill (Div. 3) - 96-77 

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks soared to a 96-77 win over Penn State Schuylkill on Saturday, 96-77.  
 
As the University of Maryland Eastern Shore welcomed back alumni and friends for its annual homecoming celebration, the Hawks maintained a two possession lead throughout the majority of the first half. After back-to-back baskets by forward Christopher Flippin and a buzzer beating jumper from Jalen Ware, UMES took a double-digit lead, 37-26, at the half.

Norfolk State def. James Madison (Sun Belt) - 83-69 

NORFOLK, Va. – Heading into JMU's first-ever trip to Echols Hall on Saturday, the Dukes aimed to shatter the Norfolk State men's basketball team's 17-game home win streak at its campus venue. 
  
Norfolk State (3-0) stepped up to the challenge to produce an 83-69 victory in front of an enthusiastic crowd, winning its 18th consecutive game at Echols Hall and third straight matchup with the Dukes (1-1). 
  
Christian Ings led the Spartans with 22 points, shooting 7-of-11 from the floor. Brian Moore Jr. followed closely behind with 17 points, while Terrance Jones (11) and Sin'Cere McMahon (10) also scored in double figures.
