Norfolk State at the ECU Pirate Invitational - 10th of 20 teams
North Carolina Central at the Cedric Walker HBCU Challenge - 2nd of 12 teams

 

NORFOLK STATE 

GREENVILLE, N.C. --- Senior Mercyline Kimaiyo earned a 19th-place finish to help lead the Norfolk State women's cross-country team to a 10th-place overall finish at the Pirate Invitational. 
  
The Spartans placed 17-18-50-79-99 for 263 points. The event featured 20 teams with William & Mary winning the event with 19 points.

NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL 

CARY, NC --- Laila Jackson and Alitza Dennard finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the Women’s 5K at the 2024 Cedric Walker HBCU Challenge. The Eagles finished second as a team with 62 team points.  

Eagle runners crossed the finish line 5-6-13-15-23-36 led by Jackson with a 19:31.1 while Dennard finished in 19:32.0.
