NORFOLK, Va. - The North Carolina Central University volleyball team needed only three sets (25-22, 25-23, 25-16) to defeat Norfolk State University Friday evening on the road at the Gill Gymnasium.

The Eagles' offense was paced by junior Emmie Modlin, who finished with 15 kills on the day. Juniors Tayah Little and Kamren Harper added 13 and 12 kills, respectively as part of a balanced NC Central attack. Senior Bella Dearinger set a match-high 35 assists to her teammates.

Delaware State def. Coppin State 3-1

DOVER, Del. - Martyna Kmuk collected 14 kills with a .684 hitting percentage to help power the Delaware State volleyball team to a four-set win (25-15, 23-25, 25-20, 25-11) over the Coppin State Lady Eagles Friday at home at Memorial Hall.

The win boosted the Hornets' record to 10-11 overall and 6-2 in MEAC action.

The Hornets were led by a double-double from Gerren Tomlin, who registered 17 kills and 16 digs on the day. Kmuk also added 14 kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Valeria Otero chipped in with 12 digs to go with eight blocks from Hannah Sanders.

Howard def. South Carolina State 3-0

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Howard volleyball highlighted senior night with a sweep over South Carolina State Friday night. The feat marks their ninth straight win while improving to a 15-5 overall record and 8-0 in conference play. The loss drops SC State to 3-16, 1-6 MEAC.

Amanda Ifeanyichukwu led the team with 13 kills. Dami Awojobi contributed  five aces and four blocks, while Leah Reeves orchestrated the offense with 37 assists, and Claire Simpson and Rya McKinnon anchored the defense with 10 digs each.

Rya McKinnon notched her 1000th kill in the shutout adding to a week of accomplishments for the Bison. Fellow junior Claire Simpson marked her 1000th dig in Wednesday's win over UMBC.

Maryland Eastern Shore def. Morgan State 3-2

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Maryland Eastern Shore defeated the Morgan State Bears with a stellar all-around performance from the entire team.

Rayah Howell achieved a career-high 10 kills, marking her first double-digit kill match, while Anjola Omolewa set a new personal best with 18 kills, along with four digs and three blocks. Ranyla Griggs contributed 12 kills, and Anisa Dorlouis generated 37 assists and 18 digs, while Shanti Ramdeen, in her first start at Libero, added seven digs and three service aces.  UMES maintained a sideout percentage of over 50% in all five sets.
