North Carolina Central 79, Howard 76 OT 

DURHAM, N.C. - The game was a tail of two halves as the Bison led the first half of action with the score at 40-28 at the half. The Eagles responded in the second half on a 41-29 run to tie the score at the end of regulation to force overtime. With just over a minute left in OT, the score sat tied at 76 all, but three free throws fell in favor of the Eagles who came away with the win.  

N.C. Central was led by rookie Kyla Bryant with 23 points going 6-of-15 from the field and 10-of-12 at the free throw line. Morgan Callahan was not far behind with 20 points in the game to go along with 14 rebounds. Howard’s Iyanna Warren led all scorers with 26 points after going 14-of-16 from the free throw line.

Norfolk State 94, South Carolina State 33 

ORANGEBURG, S.C. - The Spartans put on a dominating performance on the road in Orangeburg, S.C. to open up conference play against the Bulldogs. Norfolk State scored as many points in the first 15 minutes of action as South Carolina State did throughout the entire game as NSU picked up the 94-33 win.  

NSU had six of the ten active players score in double figures led by Diamond Johnson with 21 points.

Coppin State 64, Delaware State 51 

DOVER, Del. - Angel Jones led the Eagles with a 22-point performance as Coppin State picked up the win to kickoff conference play.  

Only two points separated the teams after three quarters of action, but a strong fourth quarter for the Eagles put the visitors ahead at the final buzzer 64-51.

Morgan State 48, Maryland Eastern Shore 45 

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - The teams were neck and neck at the halftime buzzer and after three quarters of action Morgan State held just a three-point lead, 34-31, heading into the final ten minutes of play. The Bears held on to a slim lead throughout the fourth quarter to claim the 48-45 win. 

Sedayjha Payne led the Bears with 10 points while adding seven rebounds. Laila Fair led all players with 14 rebounds in the contest to go along with her six points.  

Maryland Eastern Shore was led by Ariana Seawell with 16 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Ashanti Lynch was the only other Hawk in double digits with 11 points.
