NORFOLK, Va., Jan. 3, 2024 – Maryland Eastern Shore forward Troy Hupstead was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Offensive Player of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola. Delaware State guard Deywilk Tavarez was named Rookie of the Week, while Howard forward Seth Towns earned Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively.
Hupstead (F, 6-7, 225, Jr., Mount Vernon, N.Y.) led the Hawks with 25 points and nine rebounds against George Washington. He added two assists, one block and one steal while going 10-of-21 (47.6%) from the field and 3-of-3 from the free throw line.
Tavarez (G, 6-2, 175, Fr., Pennsauken, N.J.) scored 12 points with eight boards, and recorded three assists in the Hornets 77-73 win over Mount St. Mary’s.
Towns (F, 6-9, 230, Gr., Columbus, Ohio) recorded a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds in the Bison 71-66 win over La Salle. He also added three assists, one block and two steals, while shooting 6-of-14 from the field, 2-of-7 from three-point range, and 4-of-5 from the free-throw line.

Justin Winston (Coppin State) recorded 19 points and three rebounds, with one assist and one steal in a 75-53 loss to Maryland.
Toto Fagbenle (Coppin State) contributed 12 points and nine rebounds, with one assist, one block and two steals in a 75-53 loss to Maryland.
Jevin Muniz (Delaware State) recorded 18 points with seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals in the Hornets 77-73 win against Mount St. Mary’s.
Allen Udemadu (Morgan State) scored 18 points with 17 rebounds, two blocks and one steal in a 79-44 loss against the University of Virginia. He averaged 9.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 1.0 blocks, and 0.5 steals over two games.
Marcus Dockery (Howard) recorded 21 points with three rebounds and two assists in the 71-66 win over La Salle.
