NORFOLK, Va., Jan. 10, 2024 – Coppin State guard Angel Jones was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Offensive Player of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola. Norfolk State guard Da'Brya Clark was named Rookie of the Week, while North Carolina Central forward Morgan Callahan earned Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively.
Jones (G, 5-4, So., Alexandria, Va.) helped the Eagles finish 2-0 in the opening weekend of MEAC action, averaging 21.5 points with 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.5 steals. She led CSU with 22 points in the 64-51 win against Delaware State and added another 20-point performance with 21 points against Maryland Eastern Shore. Jones shot 58.3 percent from the field (14-of-24), 54.4 percent from three-point range, and 69.2 percent from the charity stripe.
Clark (F, 5-7, Fr., Baltimore, Md.) recorded 18 points to lead the Spartans to an 81-60 road win against N.C. Central while recording five rebounds and five steals. Earlier in the weekend, she scored 15 points in the 94-33 road win at S.C. State with five assists. Clark averaged 16.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 3.0 steals in two games. The rookie shot an impressive 82.4 percent (14-of-17) from the free-throw line.
Callahan (Jr., F, Beach Park, Ill.) collected a double-double of 20 points and 14 rebounds in the Eagles' 79-76 overtime win against Howard. She added two steals and three blocks against the Bison. In the Eagles game against the Spartans, Callahan contributed 10 points with 10 rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block.

Laila Lawrence (Coppin State) averaged 16 points and eight rebounds as the Eagles went 2-0 in the MEAC conference opening weekend. She scored 19 points against UMES.
Iyanna Warren (Howard) collected a season-high 26 points with five rebounds and five assists in Howard's 79-76 overtime loss to N.C. Central.
Tyana Walker (Howard) averaged 14 points and 3.5 rebounds in two games for Howard.
Denijsha Wilson (Delaware State) scored 14 points in back-to-back games for Delaware State in the opening weekend of MEAC action.
Naomi Zulueta (Delaware State) led the Hornets with 15 points and seven rebounds against the Eagles of CSU.
Kyla Bryant (N.C. Central) was the points leader in both games for the Eagles, scoring 23 points against Howard and 17 versus Norfolk State.
Diamond Johnson (Norfolk State) recorded 21 points with nine steals and five assists in the 94-33 win over S.C. State.
Kierra Wheeler (Norfolk State) led the Spartans with 14 rebounds and 17 points against N.C. Central.
Sedayjha Payne (Morgan State) averaged 13.0 points and 9.0 rebounds for the Lady Bears over three games. She recorded 16 points and 10 rebounds against Central Connecticut State and 14 points and 10 rebounds against Delaware State.
Laila Fair (Morgan State) collected 14 rebounds in back-to-back games against Maryland Eastern Shore and Delaware State. She averaged 10.7 points and 12.0 rebounds in three games for MSU.
