BALTIMORE, Md. -- Coppin State continued its hot start to the season Tuesday evening with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-16) victory at Loyola (Md.), extending the Eagles' program-best start to 6-1.
In the victory, libero Ashley Roman set the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) record for career digs. She had 18 for the match and currently sits at 2,067 for her career (the previous record, 2,066, belonged to Morgan State's Ashley Preston [2004-07]).
TaKenya Stafford led Coppin with 11 kills, hitting .385, while Ammaarah Williams added nine.

Campbell 3, North Carolina Central 2
BUIES CREEK, N.C. -- North Carolina Central got strong contributions throughout its lineup to force its fourth 5-set match of the early season, but host Campbell never trailed in the fifth set to squeak out the 3-2 (17-25, 25-18, 25-15, 19-25, 15-11) non-conference victory on Tuesday evening inside Gore Arena.
The sophomore tandem of Kamren Harper and Emmie Modlin led NCCU's attack with 18 and 17 kills, respectively.
A quintet of juniors all filled up the box score for the maroon and gray. Libero Loren Johnson led the visitors with 15 digs and three aces, and setter Bella Dearinger recorded her first double-double at NCCU with season-best totals of 44 assists and 10 digs
