NORFOLK, Va., Sept. 1, 2023 – Delaware State football student-athlete Charles Brown, Jr. has been appointed to the NCAA Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). His appointment begins immediately and runs through May 31, 2025.
Brown is a redshirt junior linebacker with the Hornets, entering his second season in Dover, Del., after transferring from Eastern Michigan.
“Having a voice on the NCAA Division I SAAC body is critical for the conference,” MEAC Commissioner Sonja Stills said. “Charles’ presence on the committee not only gives Delaware State a voice on this platform, but the conference as a whole and HBCUs overall. I’m proud to have Charles representing the MEAC on the national committee.”
As a member of Div. I SAAC, Brown will sustain and advance the NCAA’s mission, traditions, values, and reputation. He’ll be a regular participant in committee meetings and conference calls, providing the national body with the student-athlete’s perspective from Delaware State and the MEAC as a whole.
