NSU's Bryant Invited to NBA G League Elite Camp

NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State senior Joe Bryant, Jr. will showcase his talents at the 2023 NBA G League Elite Camp this week in front of numerous NBA G League scouts, coaches and front-office executives. The organization released the official list of players on Friday afternoon.

Amongst a talented group of 45 individuals, Bryant will be the one of two players from an HBCU taking the court in this year's camp. He will compete amongst some of the top draft-eligible prospects in the world, including many players that joined Bryant at the 69th Annual Portsmouth Invitational Tournament (PIT) just a few weeks ago.

The NBA G League Elite Camp is a three-day event, showcasing athlete's talents through five-on-five games and strength and agility drills from May 13 - May 14 in Chicago, Ill. A select number of players from the group will be invited to participate in the NBA Draft Combine later on in the week based on their performance in the NBA G League Elite Camp.

The NSU guard has already made quite the impression this offseason, racking up postseason accolades and earning invites to several high-profile events. He became the first Spartan since Pendarvis Williams (2014) to appear in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Reese's Division I All-Star Game, tallying 22 points and six rebounds on the way to East MVP honors.

Bryant was named MEAC Men's Basketball Player of the Year for a second straight season this year, as well as BOXTOROW HBCU Division I National Player of the Year. He earned District 15 First Team honors from the NABC, the only player from an HBCU on the first team.
