Eight MEAC Bowlers Named NTCA All-Region

2022-23 NTCA All-Region Teams

The National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) announced its All-Region honorees for the Northeast and Central Regions on Wednesday, with the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) boasting eight honorees in the Northeast Region.

Five of those eight earned First Team All-Region honors.

Three-time MEAC champion North Carolina A&T State led the way with three First Team honorees, headlined by reigning MEAC Bowler of the Year Melanie Katen and MEAC Bowling Championship Outstanding Performer Lauren Tomaszewski. Chloe Newberry, a First Team All-MEAC honoree, was also named First Team All-Region.

In fact, the entire All-MEAC First Team was on the Northeast Region First Team, as Maryland Eastern Shore's Brooke Roberts and Morgan State's Johnna Hill -- the MEAC Rookie of the Year -- were named First Team All-Region.

UMES' Elizabeth Ross and Morgan State's Cheyenne Washington were both named Second Team All-Region, while Delaware State's Saralyne Nassberg earned Third Team All-Region honors.

The 2022-23 All-Region teams were the result of voting by participating head coaches. Six student-athletes were named First Team due to ties in the voting process. The NTCA will announce its All-America teams and annual award honorees on Thursday, April 13, at the NCAA Women's Bowling Championship banquet in Las Vegas, Nev.
