BALTIMORE, Md. -- Coppin State men's tennis honored its seniors with a victory over Wagner on Sunday afternoon by a final score of 4-1.
After sweeping Wagner in doubles, Vansh Kapoor played to clinch at second singles for a three and half hour match. Kapoor won the deciding match in a three-set tie breaker for the Eagles first victory of the season.
In doubles play, Luka Markovic and Kapoor paired up at first doubles against Mehra and Loufy. The Eagles duo won the tiebreaker 7-5 for a 7-6 match win.
Anas Haddou and Rishi Jalota defeated Venkatraman and Darling at second doubles for a 7-5 victory.
Kapoor played the deciding match at second singles against Mehra. Kapoor dropped the first set 5-7 and made a comeback in the second set for a 6-4 advantage. After a 6-6 tie in set three, Kapoor was down 1-5 in the tiebreaker. He made a comeback trailing 6-5 to save the match point before undergoing a three-point run to win the tiebreaker at 8-6.
At number three singles, Haddou defeated Loutfy in an extensive three set match. After dropping the first set 4-6, Haddou won the second set 6-1 and went 6-4 in the third set. Joleta dominated Venkatramana at fourth singles for a two-set victory (6-1, 6-3).
Markovic retired at number one singles against Perez at 4-6.
