Delaware State Finishes Second in Griffin Baker Classic

NEW CASTLE, Del. -- 
The Delaware State bowling team clinched its first top-five finish of the second semester and fifth overall after claiming second place at the Griffin Baker Classic hosted by Chestnut Hill College.
 
The Hornets started off strong posting a 3-2 record on day one with a total pinfall of 5,004, averaging 200.2 pins per game breaking the 1,000-pin mark in three of five games.
 
Delaware State followed up with a 3-1 mark on day two for a tournament record of 6-3 finishing only behind Mercyhurst.

Brown, Stokley Lead Coppin State to a 10th-Place Finish at Griffin Baker Classic

NEW CASTLE, Del. --
 Logan Brown and Elizabeth Stokley led Coppin State's bowling team to a 10th-place finish out of 20 schools at the Griffin Baker Classic this weekend at Bowlerama.

The Eagles finished 6-3 on the weekend, averaging 181.4 per game with 8,163 total pins.
 
Coppin opened the tournament with four straight wins, including a 968-832 victory over No. 13 Delaware State in the second match. The Eagles also picked up wins over St. Thomas Aquinas, Howard and Bloomfield, before falling to 14th-ranked Fairleigh Dickinson.

Norfolk State Begins Final Stretch of Season at Griffin Baker Classic

NEW CASTLE, Del. -- 
The Norfolk State women's bowling team got the 2023 portion of the schedule underway over the weekend, competing in the Griffin Baker Classic at Chestnut Hill College.
 
The Spartans finished 15th in the final standings after winning four matchups and losing six. NSU ended with a total pinfall of 8,298, an average of 169 per game.
 
The Spartans got off to a hot start on Saturday, defeating Caldwell 904-842 in the opening match of the day. They continued to uphold the strong advantage, defeating Holy Family 908-549 in their next contest.

Howard Unable to Find Rhythm in Griffin Baker Classic

NEW CASTLE, Del. -- 
Howard University women's bowling was unable to find its rhythm on the final day of the Griffin Classic, hosted by Chestnut Hill College.
 
HU wrapped up the weekend with a 1-4 mark on day two.
 
Howard dropped all four Baker matches to Wagner (920-877), Chestnut Hill (884-725), Roberts Wesleyan (985-762) and Caldwell (850-778).
