ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The Howard University men's basketball team came out on top in a hard-fought battle against Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference opponent South Carolina State with an 82-78 win.
 
With the win, HU moved to 18-12 (10-3 MEAC) on the season while snapping its brief two-game slide.
 
Graduate guard Jelani Williams led the team with 23 points and seven rebounds off the bench.
 
Thursday (March 2), the Bison will host Norfolk State in the last game of the regular season at 9 p.m. inside Burr Gymnasium. The game will be broadcasted on ESPNU.
 
Morgan State 68, Maryland Eastern Shore 61
 
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Redshirt sophomore Will Thomas had 23 points to lead Morgan State to a 68-61 victory over Maryland Eastern Shore on 'Senior Night' at the Hytche Athletic Center. The Bears are now 15-14 and improved to 7-6 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) action, while the Hawks fall to 16-12 overall and 4-9 in conference play.
 
Thomas scored 18 of his game-high 23 points (10-20 FG) in the first half. He also had six rebounds and two steals in 35 minutes of action.
 
Morgan State will host the Coppin State Eagles on Thursday, March 2 for its regular season finale. Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m. at Hill Field House. The game will mark 'Senior Night' for five Morgan student-athletes who will be playing in their final home contest.
 
North Carolina Central 76, Norfolk State 75
 
DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University junior guard Justin Wright poured in all of his 20 points in the second half and overtime to lift the Eagles over Norfolk State University 76-75 inside a rocking McDougald-McLendon Arena on Monday night.

The Eagles were able to Protect the Nest and post a 13-1 home record this season, which is the best mark since the squad went 12-0 at home in the 2019-20 season.
 
The Spartans were led by two double-figure scorers. Kris Bankston had a monster game finishing with 29 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks. He hit 11 of his 17 field goal attempts and seven of his 10 shots from the foul line. George Beale added 12 points on 57% shooting (4-7) and claimed five of NSU's 13 steals.

NCCU (16-11, 9-4 MEAC) will travel to Orangeburg, South Carolina to close out MEAC regular season play against South Carolina State on Thursday, March 2 at 7:30 p.m. 
 
Coppin State 82, Delaware State 72
 
DOVER, Del. – Mike Hood scored a season- and game-high 24 points while Sam Sessoms finished an assist shy of a double-double as Coppin State's men's basketball team defeated Delaware State, 82-72 on Monday night at Memorial Hall. The Eagles move to 8-22 on the season and 3-10 in the MEAC while the Hornets fall to 6-22 overall with a 4-9 mark in league play.
 
Hood hit six 3-pointers and was 6-of-7 from the line as the Eagles put five players in double figures. Sessoms finished with 11 points on just 4-of-6 shooting along with nine assists and five rebounds.
 
Coppin heads to Morgan State for its regular season finale on Thursday, March 2 at 7:30 pm.
