BALTIMORE, Md. --
Jewel Watkins poured in 19 points on Saturday in PEC Arena as Coppin State avenged a midweek loss to Maryland Eastern Shore with a 56-45 victory to snap the Hawks' winning streak at three.

The Eagles improved to 7-20 overall and 4-8 in MEAC play.

Watkins hit five 3-pointers and also grabbed 12 rebounds to record the double-double, while also blocking a pair of shots. Colleen Bucknor also had a double-double, going for 11 points and a team-high 14 boards. Alexandria Hamilton added 10 rebounds as the Eagles held a 55-38 edge on the glass.

Delaware State 55, Morgan State 54

BALTIMORE, Md. -- 
Delaware State earned its second straight MEAC victory and fourth on the year after defeating Morgan State University 55-54 on Saturday.  

With three Hornets scoring double-digit points, Jessica Martino led the way with a season-high 17 after shooting a team-best 8-of-12 from the field while knocking down one of her two free throws. Martino finished the game with four rebounds, one assist and one block. 

Senior guard Alexis Moragne notched 13 points in the win, powered by a team-high two 3-pointers. Moragne also came down with four rebounds while handing out two helpers and collecting two steals.

Norfolk State 69, South Carolina State 41

ORANGEBURG, S.C. -- 
Makoye Diawara led four Norfolk State players in double figures as the Spartans used a strong start and never trailed in rolling to a 69-41 MEAC victory over South Carolina State on Saturday afternoon at the Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center. 

Norfolk State (22-5 overall, 10-2 MEAC) raced out to a 13-0 lead and never looked back in completing the season sweep of South Carolina State. The victory, along with losses by Morgan State and Howard, have the Spartans on the verge of a second consecutive MEAC regular-season crown.

Diawara led the way with 16 points, on 6-of-11 shooting, along with three rebounds, one assist and one steal. Kierra Wheeler finished with 11 points, eight boards and one assist, while Danielle Robinson tallied 11 points and four rebounds.

Deja Francis chipped in 10 points, three steals, three asissts and one board.

North Carolina Central 56, Howard 51

DURHAM, N.C. -- 
Senior guard Kira Lowery provided 13 points and four assists on her Senior Day as she helped guide North Carolina Central to a dramatic 56-51 victory over Howard University on Saturday afternoon inside McDougald-McLendon Arena.
 
Lowery was recognized prior to tip-off and then she made a big step-back jumper while NCCU rallied past the Bison, 17-8, in the fourth quarter. Lowery also dished out two of her four assists in the surging last stanza.
 
The Eagles received several big performances down the stretch. Junior guard Kimeira Burks scored seven of her game-high 16 points in the fourth quarter, including three consecutive free throws as at 4:47 mark to put the maroon and gray ahead for good.
