MEAC Announces Weekly Bowling Honors, presented by Coca-Cola

NORFOLK, Va., Feb. 21, 2023North Carolina A&T State junior Melanie Katen was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowler of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, the conference office announced today. UAB’s Madelynn Oliva was named Rookie of the Week.
 
Katen (Jr., San Jose, Calif.) was the top individual this past weekend at the MEAC #2 Meet, averaging 217.4 pins across nine traditional games. She bowled the first 300 in program history and eclipsed the 200-pin mark six times to total 1,957 pins. Her efforts helped the Aggies go 7-1 for the weekend and wrap up the conference regular-season crown.
 
Oliva (Fr., Palm Coast, Fla.) was the highest-placing freshman this past weekend at the MEAC #2 Meet, coming in 12th with a 188.67 pinfall average in nine traditional games. She bowled three 200+ games, including a weekend-best 247.

Emily Breidegam (Delaware State) was eighth individually at the MEAC #2 Meet, averaging 194.78 pins per game.
 
Cameron Sullivan (Howard) was 20th individually in the MEAC #2 Meet, averaging 187.0 pins in traditional play.
 
Brooke Roberts (Maryland Eastern Shore) averaged 206.78 pins in traditional play to rank fourth in the individual standings at the MEAC #2 Meet.
 
Jenna Lehrer (Monmouth) was fifth in the MEAC #2 Meet, averaging 202.11 pins in traditional play.
 
Megan Wheat (Norfolk State) averaged 182.11 pins at the MEAC #2 Meet, ranking 14th individually.
 
Keagan Trexler (UAB) averaged 201.44 pins in traditional play to come in sixth individually at the MEAC #2 Meet.
