NORFOLK, Va., Feb. 14, 2023—Maryland Eastern Shore senior Elizabeth Ross was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowler of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, the conference office announced today. Morgan State’s Johnna Hill was named Rookie of the Week.
Ross (Sr., Schenectady, N.Y.) was MVP of the James Brown Invitational this past weekend, averaging 211.17 pins traditional play and eclipsing the 200-pin mark in four of her six games (including a weekend-best 260). She was the team’s anchor in Baker play, leading UMES to winning the event title and averaging 22.51 pins per frame in Baker play. For the weekend, she averaged 21.9 pins per frame overall and had a 94.1 fill percentage.
Hill (Fr., Pittsburgh, Pa.) averaged 197.5 pins in traditional play in the James Brown Invitational, ending up 12th in the individual standings as the Bears came in third in the tournament. She averaged 20.73 pins per frame for the weekend – including 21.59 per frame in Baker play, and she had an 83.3 fill percentage.

Skylar Smith (Monmouth) was 16th individually at the Sunshine State Classic, averaging 204.5 pins in traditional play and boasting an 84.1 fill percentage for the weekend.
La’Monique Berrios (Morgan State) earned All-Tournament honors at the James Brown Invitational, bowling four 200-plus games in traditional play – including a weekend-high 226.
Chloe Newberry (North Carolina A&T State) was fourth individually at the James Brown Invitational, averaging 209.17 pins in traditional play and bowling a weekend-best 259.
Savannah Schneider (UAB) was 20th at the Sunshine State Classic, bowling three 200-plus games and recording a weekend high of 228.
