Women's Basketball 

Norfolk State 96, UNC Wilmington 55 (CAA) 

Norfolk State opened the game taking a 21-15 lead through the first quarter and led 50-25 at halftime after a big second quarter run of 29-10. The Spartans continued to roll in the second hald putting 30 points up in the third quarter and finished the game with 16 in the fourth putting their final total at 96 points for the win.  

Diamond Johnson led the Spartans in points (26), rebounds (8), and assists (6) as she shot 12-of-22 from the field. Kierra Wheeler added 20 points of her own with six rebounds and four assists. Three other Spartans joined Johnson and Wheeler in double digits in Makoye Diawara (13), Anjanae Richardson (11), and Skye Robinson (10).

Oregon State 80 (PAC-12), Morgan State 51 

Morgan State headed out to face Oregon State on the road and were competitive in the first half, scoring 16 points in the first quarter and 20 in the second while Oregon State scored 26 and 16 respectively. The Beavers took control in the second half scoring 38 points while holding the Bears to 15 total points in the third and fourth quarters.  

Joelle Johnson led the Bears with 14 points while Sedayjha Payne was the only other MSU player with 11 points.

Duke 68 (ACC), Coppin State 34 

The Blue Devils held the Eagles to just nine first half points while holding a 36-9 lead at the half. Coppin State added 25 points in the second half while Duke tallied 32 as they claimed the 68-34 victory  

CSU’s Faith Blackstone scored nearly half the team’s points, putting 16 points on the board with six rebounds. Laila Lawrence added six points and a team-high seven rebounds.

Men's Basketball 

Maryland 75 (Big-10), Coppin State 53 

The Eagles were held to 18 points in the first half while the Terrapins put up 38 points in the opening 20 minutes. Coppin State bounced back in the second half scoring 35 points while holding Maryland to 37 points, but the first lead built by the Terrapins was too much for the Eagles to overcome as they fell 75-53. 

Justin Winston led the Eagles with 19 points. Greg Spurlock was the next highest scorer with 13 points while Toto Fagbenle added 12 points and nine rebounds.
