MEAC Announces Weekly Women’s Basketball Honors, presented by Coca-Cola

NORFOLK, Va., Dec. 27, 2023 – Coppin State guard Tiffany Hammond was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola. North Carolina Central guard Kyla Bryant was named Rookie of the Week, while teammate forward Jada Tiggett earned Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively.

Hammond (G, Jr., 5-9, Trenton, N.J.) collected a career-high 21 points, making an impressive seven three-pointers against No. 6/7 LSU in front of a sold-out crowd in Baltimore. She added three assists and two steals in the game.

Bryant (G, Fr., 5-7, Salisbury, N.C.) recorded 20 points in the Eagles win 70-65 against the Seahawks of UNC Wilmington. She also recorded four rebounds, one assist and four steals in N.C. Central's second consecutive road win.

Tiggett (G/F, 6-2, Fr., Winchester, Calif.) collected her second double-double in the Eagle's road win at UNC Wilmington with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks.
