NORFOLK, Va., Dec. 27, 2023 – North Carolina Central guard Ja’Darius Harris was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Offensive Player of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola. Coppin State guard Ryan Archey was named Rookie of the Week, while CSU teammate forward Justin Winston earned Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively.
Harris (G, 6-2, 175, Sr., Trenton, Tenn.) recorded a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds, with two assists, in a win over Longwood. He shot 58 percent from the field (7-of-12) and connected on 2-of-3 shots from 3-point range. He was also perfect from the charity stripe (5-of-5).
Archey (G, 6-0, 170, Fr., Clinton, Md.) registered nine points, two rebounds and two steals against James Madison. He connected on his only shot from 3-point range in 28 minutes of play.
Winston (F, 6-8, 200, Sr., West Orange, N.J.) grabbed eight rebounds, blocked two shots, and collected two steals against James Madison. Offensively, he scored 13 points and knocked down 7-of-8 free-throws in 25 minutes.

Allen Betrand (Norfolk State) tallied 29 combined points, along with 10 rebounds one assist and one steal to help the Spartans finish 1-1 last week. He efforts led to a selection to the All-Tournament Team of WestStar Don Haskins Sun Bowl Invitational.
Jaylani Darden (Norfolk State) recorded 26 total points, with six boards, eight assists, and seven steals.
Marcus Dockery (Howard) scored a season-high 24 points, with three rebounds and one steal against Santa Barbara.
Will Thomas (Morgan State) led the Bears with 20 points (7-15 FG) with five rebounds and three assists in 37 minutes.
