NORFOLK, Va., Dec. 13, 2023 – Norfolk State forward Kierra Wheeler was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola. Norfolk State guard Da’Brya Clark was named Rookie of the Week, while Maryland Eastern Shore forward Ariana Seawell earned Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively.
Wheeler (Jr., F, Minneapolis, Minn.) repeats as the MEAC Player of the Week after leading the Spartans with 15 points and nine rebounds in a loss to Wake Forest. She shot 50 percent (6-of-12) from the field and 75 percent (3-of-4) from the free throw line.
Seawell (Jr., F, Bronx, NY) recorded 11 points and seven rebounds for the Hawks in their win 54-47 against Fairleigh Dickenson. She also contributed one assist, one steal, and one block while shooting 36.4 percent from the field and was perfect (3-of-3) from the charity stripe.
Clark (F, 5-7, Fr., Baltimore, Md.) played 33 minutes in the 51-46 loss to Wake Forest scoring five points with four rebounds, six assists, two steals, and one block.

Laila Lawrence (Coppin State) recorded 10 points and six rebounds in the Eagles only game of the week.
Angel Jones (Coppin State) led the Eagles with 13 points with four rebounds against George Washington.
