Wake Forest 51 (ACC), Norfolk State 46 

The Spartans gave the Demon Deacons a scare as they nearly toppled Wake Forest on their home court in Winston-Salem, NC. Wake Forest only led by three points, 13-10, after the first quarter concluded but a 12-9 second quarter from the Spartans put Norfolk State and Wake Forest tied at 22 all, heading into the halftime break. The Demon Deacons outscored the Spartans by seven points, 19-12, in the third quarter taking a 41-34 lead into the final ten minutes of play. Norfolk State won the fourth quarter, 12-10, but ran out of time to catch Wake Forest, as NSU lost by five points, 51-46.  

NSU was led by Kierra Wheeler who nearly collected a double-double of 15 points and nine rebounds. Makoye Diawara was the next highest scorer with eight points and eight rebounds.

West Virginia 107 (Big 12), Delaware State 43 

The Hornets faced a challenging opponent in the Mountaineers of West Virginia University in Morgantown, WVa. WVU opened the game putting up 37 points in the first quarter alone while holding DSU to only seven points. Delaware State added six points to their total in the second quarter to enter halftime trailing 55-13. The Hornets improved in the second half of the game putting 11 points up in the third and 19 in the fourth, but Delaware State could not catch West Virginia who won 107-43. 

Tyshonne Tollie led DSU with 15 points. Denijsha Wilson and Kiarra MceIrath were the next highest scorers with eight and seven points respectively. McKenzie Stewart led the team with nine rebounds including six on the defensive end.

Tulane 67 (American), Howard 52 

The Bison stayed close to the Green Wave of Tulane throughout the first (19-14) and second (18-14) quarters and trailed by nine points at the half, 37-28. Tulane pulled further ahead in the third quarter outscoring Howard 16-9 to lead 53-37 heading into the final ten minutes of action. The Bison outscored the Green Wave in the fourth quarter 15-14 but ran out of time to even the score as Howard fell 67-52. 

Iyanna Warren led the Bison with 16 points, three steals, and five rebounds. Tyana Walker was nearly in double-digits contributing nine points to Howard’s tally.

Alabama A&M 62 (SWAC), South Carolina State 44 

Alabama A&M led S.C. State throughout the first three quarters in the Battle of the Bulldogs to pick up the 62-44 win. Alabama A&M put up 14 and 18 points respectively in the first and second quarters while holding S.C. State to 21 total points in the first half. Alabama A&M added 19 points in the third and 11 in the fourth for 30 second half points, while South Carolina State posted 10 and 13 points in the third and fourth quarters. 

Jordan Releford and Taniya McGowan led the SCSU Bulldogs with eight points each. Releford also led SCSU with six rebounds.
