NORFOLK, Va. - Sunday’s volleyball action saw the Eagles of Coppin State fall in five sets to the Bison of Howard inching the Bison closer to tying for the number one spot in the conference standings. Delaware State knocked off N.C. Central in five sets, while Morgan State defeated Norfolk State and Maryland Eastern Shore downed South Carolina State in three set sweeps.
Howard 3, Coppin State 2
The Bison defeated the Eagles ending their undefeated streak and handing them their first conference loss. The Bison came out the gate early taking the first set 25-22. Coppin State roared back and won the next two sets, 25-21, 25-22, to go ahead 2-1 in the match score. Howard rallied in the fourth set to win 25-19 forcing the fifth set and with momentum on their side the Bison won set five 15-9.
Howard led in all stat categories putting down 60 kills while Coppin State only put down 48. Rya McKinnon led all athletes with 22 kills in the match while teammate Kayla Diaz put up 42 assists. Cimone Woodard and Jennifer Bolden tallied eight and seven blocks respectively.

Delaware State 3, North Carolina Central 2
The Hornets and Eagles went to five sets also with Delaware State emerging victorious. N.C. Central opened the game winning the first set 25-21, while Delaware State evened the match score at one apiece with a 25-20 win in set two. The Eagles won set three, but the Hornets followed suit in set four evening the score again at two games apiece. DSU held on to their momentum winning set five 15-8.
MEAC Co-Player of the Week, Emmie Modlin from NCCU put down 22 kills to lead all players while MEAC rookie of the week Ella Sanders led the Hornets with 15 kills. Bella Dearinger tallied 36 assists to lead all players while Loren Johnson had 24 digs.

Morgan State 3, Norfolk State 0
In their last road game of the regular season the Spartans fell to the Bears in three sets as MSU recorded 42 kills as a team while holding NSU to 30. Morgan State won in commanding fashion with scored of 25-21, 25-18, 25-17 while holding Norfolk State to a team hitting percentage of .168.
Shonte Seale led all players with 12 kills while Fabiana Mucciola led with 16 digs for NSU. Trinity Carruthers for MSU put up 31 assists.

Maryland Eastern Shore 3, South Carolina State 0
The Hawks of UMES continue the stellar season with a dominate three-set win over the Bulldogs of S.C. State 25-21, 25-17, 25-17. Maryland Eastern Shore hit .259 as a team while holding S.C. State to a .043 hitting.
