The Eagles found their first win of the season over the Retrievers from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
Senior forward Justin Winston put the team on his back with an impressive 37 points in the game shooting 13-of-19 from the field and 8-of-9 from the free throw line. He added 13 rebounds for a double-double and made four steals. Prior to his 37 tonight, Winston’s previous career-high was 20, which he scored twice against St. Joseph’s on Feb. 11, 2020 and March 4, 2020.

Delaware State 76, Chicago State 69 (Independent)
Delaware State claimed their third win of the season with a 76-69 decision over Chicago State. DSU put up 40 points in the first half to lead at the break 40-31. The Cougars won the second half out scoring the Hornets 38-36, Delaware State’s first half efforts were enough to stay ahead of Chicago State for the win.
Martaz Robinson and Jevin Muniz led the Hornets with 24 and 21 points respectively. Deywik Tavarez and Alston Andrews both scored in double figures with Tavarez collecting 11 points and Andrews 10.

Georgetown 45 (Big East), Howard 43
The contest between the Bison and Hoyas was a very close and relatively low scoring affair as Georgetown claimed a slim 45-43 victory over Howard. The Bison opened the game winning the first quarter with a score of 15-11 but the Hoyas led the second quarter taking a one-point, 22-21, lead into the break. Georgetown put up 18 points coming out of halftime while holing Howard to 12 before the Bison closed out the fourth quarter with a 10-5 score. Unfortunately, the shooting was not on for Howard who went 15-of-62 from the field as a team shooting 24.2 percent in the game.
The Bison were led by Iyanna Warren with 13 points. Nile Miller and Myla Cooper both added six points each while Miller brought down 10 rebounds.
