NORFOLK, Va. - The MEAC volleyball action approaches its final few games before the conference tournament in two weeks. Coppin is three match away from a perfect slate in season, while Howard's hope to tie for first in the regular season still stand. Hers a look as Friday night's matches.
Coppin State 3, Norfolk State 1
Norfolk State opened the match with a 25-23 win in set one but Coppin State responded by claiming the next three to remain undefeated in MEAC play. CSU out hit NSU .272 to .254 with 20 more kills as a team (63) than the visiting Spartans (43). Four Eagles recorded 10 or more kills in the match led by Paola Caten.

North Carolina Central 3, Maryland Eastern Shore 1
After opening the match with a 29-27 win, the Hawks were outdone by the Eagles in sets two through four 26-24, 25-21, 25-22. UMES put down two more kills in the match 57 to 55 but hit for .193 compared to NCCU’s .222. Co-player of the week Emmie Modlin had a match-high 21 kills for N.C. Central.

Delaware State 3, South Carolina State 0
The Hornets took care of business down in Orangeburg, S.C., with a three-set sweep over the Bulldogs. Delaware State recorded 10 or more kills in each set while holding S.C. State to fewer than 10 kills in all three sets. DSU hit for .229 as a team with 39 kills while SCSU hit for .022 with 21 kills. Alondra Maldonado led the Hornets with 13 kills en route to collecting her 1,000th career kill.

Howard 3, Morgan State 0
The Howard Bison handled the Bears of Morgan State with efficiency as the Bears did not score more than 17 points in a set. As a team the Bison hit .376 with 36 kills while holding the Bears to 21 kills and a .139 hitting percentage. Howard improved to 9-3 in MEAC action while Morgan State fell to 2-9.
