The Eagles scored 28 first half points but trailed the Blue Hose of Presbyterian by 13 points at the break. N.C. Central added 30 points to their total in the second half but again trailed PC who scored 35 points in the second to win 76-58.  

Morgan Callahan recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds while shooting 7-of-17 from the field and 4-of-8 from the charity stripe. Kyla Bryant was the only other Eagle to score double-digits with 14 points.

Rutgers 82 (Big 10), Delaware State 48 

Delaware State came out of the gates outscoring Rutgers 20-16 in the first quarter. The Scarlet Knights responded by putting up 25 points in the second quarter while holding the Hornets to only seven points. Rutgers rallied in the second half putting 41 points on the board while holding Delaware State to just 21 points total in the third and fourth quarters. 

Deyonce Thompson led the Hornets with 22 points after shooting 50 percent (8-of-16) from the field and 4-of-5 from the free throw line. Kierra MceIrath added 13 points as the only other Hornet in double figures.

Maryland Eastern Shore 69, Mount St. Mary's 52 (MAAC) 

After being outscored in the first quarter 18-13, the Hawks rallied over the next three quarters to pull out a 69-52 win. UMES scored 41 points combined in the second (18) and third (23) quarters while adding 15 in the fourth en route to the win.  

Four Hawk players scored in double-figures with Zamara Haynes leading the was with a near double-double of 17 points and nine rebounds. Mya Thomas added 12 points with Ja’la Bannerman close behind at 11 points. Ariana Seawell also almost tallied a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds. Mahogany Lester recorded an astounding 17 rebounds while scoring eight points.

South Carolina State 76, Queens University of Charlotte 58 (ASUN) 

The Bulldogs picked up their first win of the season after defeating Queens University of Charlotte 76-58. S.C. State came out of the gates with a big first quarter scoring 22 points while holding Queens to eight points. The Royals answered in the second quarter with 16 points while they took their turn holding the Bulldogs to eight points. South Carolina State bounced back in the second half scoring 46 points and held Queens to 34 points pulling off the win 76-58. 

Janiah Hinton and Morgan Beacham both scored 20+ points in the game with Hinton posting 25 points and six rebounds with Beacham adding 21 points while shooting a perfect 10-of-10 from the free throw line. Cassandra Colon added 17 points making 5-of-6 three-point attempts.

Kent State 77 (MAC), Coppin State 40 

The Eagles of Coppin State suffered a 77-40 blow against the Golden Flashes of Kent State who nearly doubled CSU’s total score.  

Laila Lawrence and Faith Blackstone both tallied 12 points each to lead Coppin State. Blackstone also led the Eagles with six rebounds.

Towson 80 (CAA), Morgan State 69 

After getting off to a slow start, Morgan State battled in the second, third, and fourth quarters to fall by 11 points. MSU had a big fourth quarter putting up 29 points while holding Towson to 17.

Minnesota 74 (Big 10), Norfolk State 43 

Norfolk State played close in the first and fourth quarters while Minnesota held them to only 16 points between the second and third quarters en route to picking up a 74-43 win over NSU.  

Kierra Wheeler led the Spartans with 14 points and nine rebounds, falling just shy of a double double. Da’naijah Williams, Makoye Diawara, and Paris Mullens all recorded six points apiece.

Men’s Score 

High Point 77 (Big South), Morgan State 59 


High Point 77 (Big South), Morgan State 59 

The Panthers of High Point outscored the Bears of Morgan State in both halves to claim a 77-59 victory. MSU scored 25 points in the opening half while HPU put up 39 points. In the second half the Bears closed the gap slightly, scoring 34 points, but the Panthers scored 38.  

Morgan State was led by Christian Oliver with 14 points. Wynston Tabbs added 12 points while Marvin Brimage was the last in double-digits at 10 points.
