NORFOLK, Va., Nov. 24, 2023 – Maryland Eastern Shore junior forward Troy Hupstead was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola. Coppin State guard Camaren Sparrow was named Rookie of the Week, while Howard junior guard Bryce Harris earned Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively.
Hupstead (F, 6-7, 225, Mt. Vernon, NY) averaged a double-double with 14.5 points and 10.0 rebounds in three non-conference games last week. In an 83-80 overtime victory over the University of Pennsylvania, Hupstead scored 22 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, hitting 6-for-7 from the charity stripe, along with two assists and one steal.
Harris (G, 6-4, 220, Brentwood, NY) averaged 8.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in three games for Howard. Harris fell one rebound short of a double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds in a win over Boston. Against Rutgers, he recorded eight rebounds and two blocks, along with 12 points. For the week, Harris collected 25 total rebounds and four blocks as the Bison finished 1-2 in non-conference action.
Sparrow (G, 6-4, 185, Baltimore, Md.) finished with a team and season-high 12 points, with five rebounds and two steals against Eastern Illinois.

Fred Cleveland Jr. (NCCU) tallied a team-high 24 points and dished out six assists in an overtime win over Campbell, 78-75.
Keishon Porter (NCCU) recorded 17 points, hitting 70 percent from the field (7-of-10), along with two rebounds, two assists and four steals in a win over Mid-Atlantic Christian.
Jamarii Thomas (NSU) led the Spartans to a 69-66 victory over Florida Gulf Coast with a career-best 27 points and five steals. Thomas averaged 17.6 points, 2.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.7 steals in three games at the Paradise Jam.
