Duquesne 65, Howard 51 

The Bison opened the game up by scoring 20 points in the first quarter while holding the Dukes to 17 points after the first ten minutes. Duquesne responded in the second by outscoring Howard 19-8 to lead 36-28 at the break. The Bison again outscored the Dukes in the third, 16-12, but a strong fourth quarter for Duquesne (17-7) kept the Dukes in front 65-51. 

Howard was led by Iyanna Warren and Tyana Walker with 11 points each. Nile Miller was close behind with 10 points and 13 rebounds for the Bison and was the only Howard player with a double-double.

Wofford 82, North Carolina Central 52 

The Terriers got out to an early start and held on throughout the game to defeat the Eagles 82-52. North Carolina Central scored 33 points in the middle two quarters but only managed to score 12 in the first and seven in the fourth to fall to 0-2.  

Kyla Bryant led N.C. Central with 18 points shooting 8-of-14 from the field. Janiah Jones was the only other Eagle to score in double figures with 10 points.

Men’s Basketball 

North Carolina Central 113, Mid-Atlantic Christian 50 

The Eagles scored nearly 60 points in both halves of the game against the Mustangs of Mid-Atlantic Christian University to win 113-50 improving to 2-2 on the season.  

Six different Eagles scored in double digits led by Ja’Darius Harris with 20 points. Keishon Porter added 17 points while Fred Cleveland, Jr., put up 14 points. Emmanuel Izunabor and Po’Boigh King both tallied 11 points, while Perry Smith, Jr., contributed 10 points and eight rebounds.

Howard 64, Boston 53 

Boston just narrowly outscored Howard in the first half 24-23, but a strong second half from the Bison elevated them past the Terriers 64-53.

Only two Bison scored in double-digits led by Bryce Harris with 19 points and one rebound shy of a double-double. Seth Towns added 13 points and six rebounds as the second highest scoring Bison.
