NORFOLK, Va. - The MEAC Friday volleyball action saw some exciting action throughout the league. Coppin remains on top of the conference claiming their ninth MEAC win. The Hawks defeated the Spartans on the eve of homecoming, while Howard beat Delaware State and N.C. Central offed the Bears of Morgan State.
Coppin State 3, S.C. State 0
The Eagles held the Bulldogs to only 21 kills throughout the match with 17 errors on 91 attacks. CSU put down 45 kills and 15 errors on 97 attack attempts hitting .309 as a team. CSU held SCSU to fewer than 20 points in each set to win 25-16, 25-17, 25-14 in three sets.
Coppin State was led by TaKenya Stafford with 13 kills and Geraldyn Palacios tallied 12. Andrea Tsvetanova put up 19 assists while splitting time with Andrea Serrano who tallied 14. MEAC Rookie of the Week Coco Figueroa paced the back line with 12 digs.
For the Bulldogs, Kiyah Felder led the attack with seven kills while Hailey Harris made seven blocks. Kaia Barnett made 16 assists while Kiarra Rosales dug up ten attacks.

Maryland Eastern Shore 3, Norfolk State 0
The Hawks came down to Norfolk to take on the Spartans and defeated NSU on the eve of homecoming sweeping the home team in three sets. Norfolk State hit a .177 on the evening after taking 96 attack attempts while only putting down 34 kills with 17 errors. Maryland Eastern Shore hit a .359 with a 39-11-78 team attacking line.
Gabrielle Gilbert led all attackers with 15 kills for the Spartans. Sydney McCree put up 20 assists with five digs while Fabiana Mucciola and Trinity Mitchell collected six digs.
Ranyla Griggs (12) and Derionah Abner (10) posted a combined 22 kills with Nkemjika Ikemefuna adding nine. Romina Vacca put up 17 assists with Anisa Dorlouis added 12.
The teams battled in all three sets with the Hawks holding off the Spartans for the sweep, 25-22, 25-20, 25-18.

N.C. Central 3, Morgan State 1
The Eagles upended the Bears of Morgan State in four sets, 26-24. 25-14. 21-25, 25-19. Each set saw the teams battle as NCCU managed to put down 10+ kills each set.
Emmie Modlin and Kamren Harper led the Eagles with 17 and 16 kills respectively. Bella Dearinger put up 40 assists while a trio of Eagles collected 10+ digs. Loren Johnson (25), Jeslyn Spencer (17), and Dearing (10) combined for 52 of 74 team digs.
Morgan State was led by Jordan Page with 14 kills and 11 digs for a double-double. Trinity Carruthers and Erin Carpenter split the setter duties tallying 15 and 14 assists respectively, while Alyssa Sampson (14) and Makila Billingsley (11) joined page with 10+ digs.

Howard 3, Delaware State 1
The teams sat even after two sets with each holding a one set score. The Bison held off the HOrnets in the final two sets to win 25-14 and 28-26 claiming the match in four sets.
Rya McKinnon and Jennifer Bolden led the bison over the Hornets with 15 and 13 kills respectively. Setter Kayla Diaz put up 42 assists while three players tallied double-digit digs in the match. McKinnon, Claire Simpson, and Bria Woodard had 10 or more digs in the match.
Ella Sanders led DSU with 13 kills while Alondra Maldonado added 10 of her own. Naz Tuncay tallied 21 assists to lead the team with Kaulana Kalulu-Sugai adding 15 in the two-setter system. Sanders held down the back line with 13 digs to match her 13 kills.
