MEAC Announces Weekly Bowling Honors, presented by Coca-Cola

NORFOLK, Va., Oct. 17, 2023 — North Carolina A&T State graduate student Lauren Tomaszewski was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowler of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, the conference office announced today. University of Alabama Birmingham freshman Madison Colston was named the MEAC Rookie of the Week.  
  
Tomaszewski (Gr., O’Fallon, Ill.) was named All-Tournament at the Colonial Classic hosted by Tulane University after leading North Carolina A&T to a first-place finish, averaging 219.6 pins in traditional play. For the weekend, she averaged 22.29 pins per frame, had a 62.7 strike percentage and averaged 9.21 pins on first ball. In Baker play, she averaged 22.49 pins per frame and the weekend saw her record a 91.0 fill percentage. Tomaszewski helped the Aggies win the tournament with an 11-2 record and a total pinfall of 14,096.  

Colston (Fr., Pinellas Park, Fla.) helped the Blazers to a ninth-place finish at the Colonial Classic hosted by Tulane University. UAB picked up five wins in traditional games over Texas Southern, Alabama A&M, Jackson State, Emmanuel, and Southern. On the weekend, she averaged 19.58 pins per frame, had a 47.1 strike percentage and averaged 8.83 pins on first ball. In Baker play, she averaged 19.81 pins per frame and the weekend saw her record a 83.6 fill percentage.

Maya Avilez (N.C. A&T)
 averaged 21.52 pins per frame over the weekend helping the Aggies to claim the Colonial Classic title. Recorded an average pin fall of 21.02 in traditional play while knocking down 21.82 in Baker style games. Collected an 91.0 fill percentage. 

Mariana Santos (Maryland Eastern Shore) averaged 20.33 pins per frame over the weekend for the Hawks. Recorded an average pin fall of 19.80 in traditional play while knocking down 20.64 in Baker style games. Collected an 86.8 fill percentage. 

Sydney Reardon (Delaware State) averaged 19.77 pins per frame over the weekend for the Hornets. Recorded an average pin fall of 20.06 in traditional play while knocking down 19.49 in Baker style games. Collected an 80.6 fill percentage.
