MEAC Announces Weekly Bowling Honors, presented by Coca-Cola

NORFOLK, Va., Oct. 24, 2023 — Morgan State sophomore Johnna Hill was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowler of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, the conference office announced today. Coppin State freshman Victoria Davis was named the MEAC Rookie of the Week.  
  
Hill (So., Pittsburgh, Pa.) the reigning Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Rookie of the Year and 2023-24 MEAC Preseason First Team selection placed 30th at Penguin Classic, hosted by Youngstown State at Holiday Bowl in Struthers, Ohio. She totaled 925 pins and averaged 185.00 for the weekend. She produced a high game of 203 in the victory over Lewis. For the weekend, she averaged 18.61 pins per frame, had a 40.2 strike percentage and averaged 8.79 pins on first ball. In Baker play, she averaged 19.82 pins per frame and the weekend saw her record an 80.4 fill percentage. 

Davis (Fr., New Millford, Conn.) recorded a 167.80 average throughout the five traditional style matches for the Eagles at the Golden Bear Invitational, hosted by Kutztown University. She averaged a team-high 16.78 per frame with a 72 percent overall fill percentage, 16 strikes and converted on 62.5% of her makeable spares.

Kiara Smith (Morgan State)
 averaged 17.32 pins per frame over the weekend for the Bears. Recorded an average pin fall of 16.92 in traditional play while knocking down 17.71 in Baker style games. Collected a 75.5 fill percentage.
