Maryland Eastern Shore 3, Delaware State 1

Maryland Eastern Shore held off the sting of the Delaware State Hornets on Friday night to win in four sets. 
 
With the victory, UMES improves to 11-8 overall and 4-3 in the MEAC with a .579 win percentage, the team's best since the 2017 season. Delaware State fell to 11-10 overall and 4-3 in the conference. 
 
All four sets were battles between the two squads who were fighting over fourth place in the MEAC standings. UMES early lead in the opening set helped the Hawks to claim the opening game 25-23. Four consecutive kills for the Hornets late in the second set helped DSU even the match score at one set apiece.  

Set three saw the score tie nine times the last at 24 all as UMES needed extra points to win set three 26-24 and take the advantage in the match 2-1. The Hawks took an early lead in set four, and led by as many as eight points throughout the set, as Maryland Eastern Shore claimed the final game with ease 25-19.

North Carolina Central 3, South Carolina State 0 
  
North Carolina Central held off South Carolina State on Friday evening winning in three sets (25-19, 25-22, 25-14) in Orangeburg, S.C. The Eagles improve to 3-13 on the year and 2-5 in league play while the Bulldogs fall to 1-20 overall and 0-7 in the conference. 
  
NCCU was led by Jeslyn Spencer with 10 kills on 17 attacks recording a .471 attack percentage with just two errors while adding eight digs. Emmie Modlin added nine kills, followed by Kamren Harper with eight kills. Bella Dearinger set up her fellow Eagles with a match-high 33 assists while Loren Johnson held down the backline with 16 digs.

Howard 3, Norfolk State 0 
 
The Howard volleyball team picked up its 19th straight victory over Norfolk State in three sets (26-24, 25-18, 25-20) to improve to 8-11 on Friday at home in Burr Gymnasium. 
 
The conference victory improved Howard's record to 4-2 in MEAC play. Howard jumped Norfolk State in the MEAC standings as both teams hold a 4-2 record in league play. 
 
Rya McKinnon finished with a match-high 14 kills on the day to lead the Bison offense while finishing with a hitting percentage of .308. Claire Simpson led them defensively with 15 digs. Cimone Woodard had a match-high three aces in the win. Howard attackers were helped by a match-high 34 assists from Kayla Diaz.
