North Carolina A&T State Finishes Eighth in Northeast Classic
DEPTFORD, N.J. -- North Carolina A&T State, the second-ranked collegiate bowling team in the nation according to the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) poll, completed competition in the SHU Northeast Classic hosted by Sacred Heart on Sunday.
The Aggies finished the three-day event in eighth place after going 1-2 in the best-of-seven bracket Baker match play on Sunday from Bowlero. A&T finished the tournament 5-8 overall after a 1-4 Friday and a 3-2 Saturday.
The Aggies head into next week with a 45-14 overall record for the 2022-23 season.

UAB Places Second at Sonic Boom Invite
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The UAB bowling team finished second at the Sonic Boom Invite in Jackson, Miss. this past weekend. The Blazers defeated ranked Louisiana Tech Sunday morning to secure a spot in the championship bracket against the Bulldogs.
On Friday, UAB finished the day 3-1 after defeating Jackson State (931-902) in match one, Grambling State (887-684) in match two and Alabama State (916-835) in match three. To end day one, the Blazers fell shy to Louisiana Tech (923-997).
Four Blazers finished in the Top 25 individual standings – Shauna Rodgers (6th), Madelynn Oliva (7th), Keagan Trexler (12th) and Jamie Krasnigor (15th). Rodgers and Oliva both collected three 200+ games over the weekend.

Morgan State Finishes 13th at Northeast Classic
DEPTFORD, N.J. -- The Morgan State Lady Bears went 1-2 in Sunday's matches and finished in 13
th place at the Northeast Classic.
There were 34 teams in the field and 22 of the top 25 teams were competing in this tournament.
Morgan State defeated No. 8 Sam Houston State in Match 1 of traditional play on Saturday, and the Bears had a score over 1,000 in each of the first four traditional games. Cheyenne Washington finished 10th in the individual standings with a 217.8 average for five games bowled.

Maryland Eastern Shore Comes in 16th at Northeast Classic
DEPTFORD, N.J. -- Maryland Eastern Shore came in 16th in the Northeast Classic over the weekend.
The Hawks opened with a 4-1 mark on Friday, opening the day with a 942-892 win against National Tenpin Coaches Association No. 6 Arkansas State. Next came a 996-935 decision versus No. 11 Maryville.
The No. 10 Hawks then picked up a pair of wins against New Jersey City College (978-895) and Mount Aloysius College (891-678).

Delaware State Resumes 2022-23 Season at Northeast Classic
DEPTFORD, N.J. -- The Delaware State bowling team opened up the second semester of tournaments at the Northeast Classic hosted by Sacred Heart University.
As a team, the Hornets placed 22nd out of a 33-team field after claiming wins over University of Wisconsin Whitewater, Wilmington University and Youngstown State University.
Delaware State was led by Emily Breidegam, Emily Garl and Skylar Tenan, who all finished in the top half of the individual field.

Monmouth Finishes 24th at Northeast Classic
DEPTFORD, N.J. -- The Monmouth University women's bowling team picked up their sixth win over a ranked opponent during the 2022-23 season when they beat No. 17 Tulane and placed 24th out of 33 teams at the Northeast Classic this weekend.
It is the second time the Hawks have been victorious over the Green Wave this season, with the first win coming in Traditional play on Nov. 5, 2022, at the Track Kat Klash in Houston, Texas. The Hawks also knocked off NJCU, as both wins came on Day Two of the meet hosted by Sacred Heart University.
The team put together a 2-10 overall record during the weekend, with seven of the 10 losses coming to Top 25 teams. Monmouth averaged 184 pins per game in four Baker match losses versus No. 4 Nebraska, No. 20 Central Missouri, No. 6 Arkansas State, and Wilmington.
