MEAC to Host National Anthem, Halftime Performance Auditions

NORFOLK, Va., Jan. 23, 2023
– The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) will hold auditions for the national anthem and halftime performances for the 2023 MEAC Basketball Tournament, from 12 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 29, at Granby Theater in Norfolk, Va.
 
Registration will begin promptly at 12 p.m.
 
The auditions, also known as MEAC @ Center Court, allow entertainers, dancers, singers, choirs and musicians of all ages and backgrounds an opportunity to showcase their talents at the conference’s annual basketball tournament.
 
The 2023 MEAC Basketball Tournament tips off March 8-11 at the Norfolk Scope Arena.

National anthem performers will have up to two minutes to perform an acapella version of the song, while halftime performers will have up to 90 seconds to present their acts in front of a panel of judges.
 
Applicants interested in auditioning should have a positive attitude, creative technique and style, and display a high level of showmanship and energy.
 
The registration form and participant waivers can be found above, on MEAChoops.com, online at 103jamz.iheart.com, or completed on the day of the audition.
 
Auditions are free and open to the public. Space is limited and applicants are encouraged to arrive early and be prepared to perform at the time of arrival.
