BALTIMORE, Md. -- Ashley Roman broke the school record for career digs as Coppin State held on for a 3-2 (25-12, 25-16, 24-26, 22-25, 15-5) MEAC victory over North Carolina Central on Sunday afternoon at PEC Arena.
With the win, Coppin improves to 11-7 on the season and 2-0 in league play, while N.C. Central falls to 2-10 with a 1-1 MEAC record.
Roman tallied a match-high 21 digs, giving her 1,673 career digs, while adding another three aces. Miajavon Coleman tied for a match-high 20 kills on .348 swinging and added 17 digs for a double-double and a pair of blocks. Her 20 kills were a season high.

Howard 3, Maryland Eastern Shore 1
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. -- Howard bounced back from Friday's loss to Delaware State on Sunday by taking a four-set victory over Maryland Eastern Shore in the W.P. Hytche Athletic Center, winning 25-11, 25-15, 23-25, 25-16.
The Bison improved to 7-7 on the season and 1-1 in MEAC play.
Jennifer Bolden led Howard with 11 kills, hitting .348, while Tamar Wells added 10 kills and six blocks (two solo). Kayla Diaz notched 25 assists and three service aces, and Essence Bell recorded 11 digs.

Morgan State 3, South Carolina State 0
BALTIMORE, Md. -- Makila Billingsley hit for a career-high .625 and totaled a match-high 11 kills as Morgan State defeated visiting South Carolina State 3-0 (25-12, 25-21, 25-9) in a MEAC contest at Hill Field House on Sunday afternoon.
The Lady Bears (2-14, 1-1 MEAC), who ended a three-match losing skid with the victory, improved to 26-0 all-time against South Carolina State. The Lady Bulldogs fell to 0-12, 0-2 in the MEAC.
Morgan State, which hit a season-best .359 in the match, got six kills from Justyus Jackson, who hit .364 and six kills from Jourdan Page, while Mackenzie Jefferson and Trinity Carruthers each had 11 assists.
Alyssa Sampson finished with a match-high 10 digs and tied a match high with four service aces.

Norfolk State 3, Delaware State 0
DOVER, Del. -- For the first time since 2013, Norfolk State is 2-0 in MEAC play. The Spartans swept Delaware State on Sunday 3-0 to snap the Hornets' 19-match home winning streak, earning set victories of 26-24, 25-21, and 25-21.
Shonte Seale led NSU (2-10, 2-0 MEAC) with 13 kills in the program's first win over Delaware State (11-4, 1-1) since 2018. She also checked off a valuable individual milestone in the process, reaching 1,000 total kills across her entire college career.
Carla Hernandez added 11 kills and six digs, while Nicole Rodriguez commanded the defense with 10 digs. Freshman setter Sydney McCree put together another strong performance as well, posting 33 assists, eight digs, and four service aces.
