Delaware State is back home for the third time in four weeks this weekend, and the Hornets will once again play host to Merrimack College. The Warriors, coming off a 28-21 overtime loss to Harvard, is 2-0 all-time against Delaware State – including a 47-10 win at Alumni Stadium last season. The two teams first met in 2019, when Merrimack defeated the Hornets 30-21. The Hornets are coming off a 35-19 win over Virginia University of Lynchburg, and they are 2-0 at home so far in 2022. Merrimack is in its ninth year under head coach Dan Curran, and the Warriors were picked to finish fifth in the Northeast Conference (NEC) this season.

Saint Francis Red Flash (1-2, 1-0 NEC) vs. Norfolk State Spartans (0-3, 0-0 MEAC)
Saturday, Sept. 24 • Dick Price Stadium • Norfolk, Va. • 2 p.m.

The Spartans will welcome Saint Francis to Dick Price Stadium this Saturday, with Norfolk State in search of its first win of the season after falling 17-7 to Hampton in the Battle of the Bay last weekend. These two teams have faced each other just once before – last season, when the Spartans escaped Loretto, Pa. with a 28-16 victory. The Red Flash, meanwhile, are 1-2 overall and 1-0 in NEC play after this past weekend’s 27-7 win at Wagner. Chris Villarial is in his 12th season at the helm of the Red Flash, who were picked to finish third in the NEC this season, behind Sacred Heart and Duquesne.

Virginia University of Lynchburg Dragons (0-3) vs. No. 25 North Carolina Central Eagles (3-0, 0-0 MEAC)
Saturday, Sept. 24 • O’Kelly-Riddick Stadium • Durham, N.C. • 4 p.m.
TV: ESPN+/MEAC Digital Network • Live Stats

After going 3-0 to open the season for the first time in the Div. I era, and being nationally ranked for the first time since 2016, the Eagles are flying high after this past weekend’s 45-27 win over then-No. 25 New Hampshire. North Carolina Central, the STATS Perform FCS FedEx Ground National Team of the Week, returns to O’Kelly-Riddick Stadium to face Virginia University of Lynchburg this Saturday afternoon, with the Dragons coming off a 35-19 loss to fellow MEAC member Delaware State this past weekend. This will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams, though the Dragons are no stranger to the MEAC.

South Carolina State Bulldogs (1-1, 0-0 MEAC) vs. North Carolina A&T State Aggies (0-3, 0-0 Big South)
Saturday, Sept. 24 • Truist Stadium • Greensboro, N.C. • 7 p.m.
TV: ESPN+ • Live Stats

The defending MEAC champion Bulldogs were idle this past week, and for the second straight game, they find themselves squaring off against a former conference foe. South Carolina State defeated Bethune-Cookman 33-9 on Sept. 10, and the Bulldogs will be on the road to take on a North Carolina A&T State squad that is 0-3 after a 49-20 loss this past weekend at Duke. Saturday’s contest will be the Aggies’ 2022 home opener, and they have won each of the last six meetings with the Bulldogs – including a 27-17 decision last year. The Bulldogs lead the all-time series 33-23-2. North Carolina A&T State is in its fourth season under head coach Sam Washington, and the Aggies were picked in the preseason to win the Big South.
