LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Ammaarah Williams notched a double-double with a season-high 18 kills and 11 digs to lead Coppin State to a 3-2 (25-20, 25-11, 20-25, 23-25, 16-14) win over Eastern Michigan on Friday afternoon at Liberty Arena.
Coppin moves to 7-6 on the season with its first-ever victory against a team from the Mid-American Conference (MAC).
Miajavon Coleman recorded 15 kills on 41 attempts for a .268 hitting percentage and was credited with seven digs and three blocks. Hope Casel was also in double figures with 10 kills to go with four blocks.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Howard opened the Penn State Classic on Friday with a straight-set win over Coastal Carolina, before falling to the tournament host Nittany Lions via a three-set sweep.
Rya McKinnon led a balanced Howard attack against Coastal, registering 11 kills an six digs while hitting .529. Dami Awojobi added nine kills for a Bison squad that hit .270 as a team.
Reigning MEAC Setter of the Week Kayla Diaz had 37 of Howard's 38 assists.

Makila Billingsley led the Lady Bears with 16 kills, hitting .379, while Justyus Jackson added 10 kills and seven total blocks.
