MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- The Delaware State women's volleyball team added two more wins to its streak with a 3-2 victory over Binghamton and a straight-set victory over Merrimack on day one of the Mountaineer Invitational hosted by West Virginia University.
The Hornets have now won 10 in a row and are a MEAC-best 10-2 on the season.
In the Binghamton match, Delaware State had four Hornets with 10 or more kills, led by Valeria Otero, who tied a match high with 20. Alondra Maldonado finished with 16 kills and two assisted blocks, giving her 17 points. Karen Cordero and Sydney Lewis chipped in with 13 and 10, respectively.
Maldonado led the offensive charge against Merrimack with a game-high 10 kills. With four assisted blocks, she finished the match with 12 total points. Cordero notched seven kills and tied for a team-best three service aces, giving her 10 points in the win.

BLACKSBURG, Va. -- Norfolk State dropped the first match of the Virginia Tech Classic 3-0 to the host school on Thursday evening. The Hokies won by scores of 25-17, 25-17, 25-21.
