MEAC Title IX 50th Anniversary Page

From 1988-2021, Ramona Riley-Bozier was the head volleyball coach at her alma mater, Morgan State. Along the way, she became one of the most decorated coaches not just in Bears history, but in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC).

Morgan State's all-time winningest coach, regardless of sport, Riley-Bozier was a five-time MEAC Coach of the Year (1995-98, 2006) and a four-time MEAC Championship Outstanding Coach (1992, 1997-98, 2000). Her Bears teams won four MEAC championships (1992, 1997, 1998, 2000) and advanced to the NCAA Volleyball Championship three times.

Morgan State's four MEAC volleyball titles are the second-most in conference history, behind only Howard and Florida A&M.

In 1997, Morgan State defeated Grambling State in the play-in round to become the first HBCU ever to make the NCAA field.

The Bears racked up 11 20-win seasons during Riley-Bozier's tenure, and as the MEAC celebrated its 50th anniversary during the 2020-21 academic year, she was named one of the conference's Legends of Coaching. During her tenure, Riley-Bozier coached one MEAC Player of the Year, five MEAC Rookies of the Year, 38 All-MEAC performers and one AVCA East Region honoree.

Riley-Bozier was also inducted into the Morgan State Hall of Fame in 2003.
