Three Hawks Earn NTCA All-Academic Honors

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. — Three members of the 2021-22 Maryland Eastern Shore bowling squad picked up one final honor this week as they received National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) All-Academic Team honors, while the team also received a honor.

They included: Gabriella Ochoa Hubbard, a rising junior majoring in Exercise Science, Elizabeth Ross, a rising senior Aviation Science major and Paulina Torres, who was a graduate student majoring in general studies.

The Hawks posted a team GPA of 3.430, which also saw the entire squad recognized by the organization.

The NTCA recognizes NCAA bowling teams that excel academically each year. Programs must have a cumulative team GPA of 3.2 or higher for the academic school year and be a current member of the NTCA. 52 bowling programs achieved a cumulative team GPA of 3.2 or higher with the list below.

The NTCA also recognizes student-athletes who have excelled in the classroom throughout the academic year. This year there are 397 honorees, representing NCAA bowling programs at 67 schools. A student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher for the academic school year to qualify for this award.
